Q:Can food and personal items (includes medicine) be sent in during reception?

 

ANS:

(A).Regulations on sending personal items:

1.Necessities:

(1).Limited to necessities of daily life, restrictions may be inflicted on its kind and quantity.

(2).Sending method: After the inmate fills out an application form and identification form, the identification form will be mailed to family members if approved by the director. Family members should paste the identification form on the package to be sent by registered post or during reception.

2.Medicine:

(1).Inmates are not allowed to apply for medicines to be sent, all medicines require a doctor’s prescription and the approval of the Center’s doctor and will be purchased by the Center on behalf of the inmate.

(2).In case of an exception, the inmate should fill out and application and identification form and provide a doctor’s prescription. The identification form will be sent to family members if approved by the director. When sending medicines, family members should provide a guarantee and a copy of the applicant’s identification card. The medicine will be allowed into the Center after being checked by a doctor.

(B).Regulations on sending food:

1.People receiving rehabilitation treatment: No food allowed. But food can be delivered on the following holidays: January 1st and 2nd, Chinese New Year’s Eve to the 5th, Mother’s Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Father’s Day, and Moon Festival; the kind and quantity of food allowed can be limited.

2.Inmates serving prison sentence: Food is allowed, but the kind and quantity can be limited.

3.Juvenile inmates: Food is allowed, but the kind and quantity can be limited.

4.Rehabilitation juvenile inmates: No food allowed.
