Q: How to apply for a certificate of imprisonment/release?

ANS:

(1) When an inmate needs to apply for a certificate of imprisonment/release, the inmate must first file a report. After the report is approved and the responsible staff of the name register verifies it, the responsible staff will write out the certificate of imprisonment/release. When the certificate is stamped with the approval seal, family members can come to retrieve it or have the inmate mail it. These reduced procedures allow family members to save time and money.

(2) The inmate’s family member can come in person to the General Affairs Office with his/her identification card or document and seal to apply for a certificate of imprisonment/release. After the application form is approved and verified by the responsible staff of the name register, the certificate will be written out, stamped, and given to the family member.
